Bat Rig
Monsters have always been a big interest of mine. With their unique anatomy, it creates some interesting rigging challenges!
Something I wanted with this rig was that it could be easily implemented into game engines with no fuss. So! The rig is solely joint based. All of the controllers were created with my Control Creator script as a base, saving a ton of time in the long run!
The IK legs feature a dual IK chain setup for the digitigrade structure, allowing for easy manipulation of the knees and the hock. There also are various foot roll custom attributes.
The wings have an attribute for spreading the “fingers” apart and bringing them together as well as an attribute for curling the wings. Additional controllers can be turned on for further fine tuning.
The collar has an implementation to follow the neck, which you can fine tune to your leisure. This way, animators don’t need to struggle to exactly match the neck, while still being able to adjust it further.

I found this model at some point last year and only recently got the chance to rig it. However, the details of the creator were not in the zip file and after a lot of searching through emails and websites, I couldn’t find it!
